At your Pinterest Business Account

This page provides easy-to-follow steps for setting up your IndieMade Pinterest XML feed. Learn how to prepare your data source, add your details on Pinterest, test your feed, and create Pins.

  1. Prepare Your Data Source and Claim Your Website
Before you start, make sure you have prepared your data source (that's the IndieMade Pinterest XML feed we've been talking about!) and claimed your website on Pinterest. This is an important initial step before you can add your feed to Pinterest.
  2. Log into Your Pinterest Business Account
Log into your Pinterest business account from your desktop and click on "Ads", then "Catalogs".
  3. Add Your Data Source Details
Fill in the details for your new data source. You'll see a section labeled "New data source". Here, you'll enter the name of your data source and your IndieMade Pinterest XML feed URL in the "Product feed URL" field. This URL must begin with http:// or https://, and include the full filepath, with no credentials in the URL.
  4. Select File Format, Availability, and More
Next, select the file format (choose XML), default availability for your product, and if necessary, enter your username and password if your feed requires credentials. You'll also need to select the country/region that your products are sent from and the language of the content in your data source. Choose the default currency for your products, and if you'd like, select the time you’d like your feed ingested.
  5. Test Your Feed
Click on "Test your feed". You can paste a piece of your feed, including the header, into the box under "Catalogs Feed Debugger", then click "Validate feed". If there are errors, they’ll appear below the box, and you can follow the instructions to fix them. If there are no errors, return to your data source details.
  6. Create Pins
Once you've entered all the information and tested your feed, click on "Create Pins". You'll land back at the main data source page while your feed is being processed. You'll need to wait for a confirmation email from Pinterest about the status of your data source submission.
